'McDonald' chose his own nickname. He lives in constant fear for his family back home and struggles to keep up with paying rent, both for himself and for them. He has been unable to secure a job in his current living conditions. His children have been unable to attend school for several years. 

"I was just lucky that I wasn't home by the time they came looking for me. I called my wife and children and we escaped. We made our way through the bush... it's coming up to three years since I left them. Now that I have no means, I really doubt when I will be able to see them again."
